Sweet Dreams Are Made Of…CBD?!
While there is an array of ways to combat sleep concerns, oftentimes, pharmaceuticals are prescribed. Sleeplessness is big business! Many prescriptions are filled, but what many are finding, is how they fall short. With a host of side effects such as lightheadedness, dry mouth, night terrors, itching and swelling, constipation, diarrhea, and many more, it’s no reason why people are getting privy and accepting of alternative treatments.
CBD is thought to interact with receptors that are involved in the sleep/wake cycle, in addition to combating pain and anxiety which are factors that also play a large role in the inability to sleep — when you attack specific symptoms, your sleep may improve.
In a studied with participants who reported anxiety and poor sleep issues, it was found that after taking a 25 mg pill of CBD in the evening (for sleep) and in the morning (for anxiety), anxiety decreased for 79% of people and sleep improved for 66%.
How To Implement CBD For Sleep
Using CBD for better sleep can be successful when you know a couple of the pro tips! Let’s take a look.
Know the CBD product you’re taking!
CBD regulation is like the wild west, there is not one standardized procedure or governing entity that oversees what is going into CBD products and follow up with the claims they’re making — so, you could be getting anything.
This is why it’s important to do a little recon on the CBD company you’re considering. If it’s a CBD product you’re interested in purchasing, it’s important to give a call or send them an email with questions. Ask them for COAs (certification of authenticity) and if they have their products tested to ensure that what they’re claiming is correct. Most CBD companies use a third-party to test for the potency and profile of specific CBD batches that are typically available upon request.
Take inventory of what you think you need. Do you prefer a CBD product that is organic and made with non-GMO ingredients? Or how about the taste? Sometimes people prefer a flavored CBD product.
It’s also important to consider the strength of the CBD product and what delivery method you prefer (tincture, pill, vape, etc.).
Getting a strong foundation of CBD knowledge can seem overwhelming, which is why we’re here! Because you’re investing a lot in a CBD product, you want it to benefit you. With little tweaks and knowing your body intimately, you can begin to support your body with CBD.
If you’re looking to support your sleep in a natural, drug-free way, CBD products can help! It’s vastly important to know the CBD product you’re taking. CBD products shouldn’t just be haphazardly chosen — it’s important to know the reputation of the CBD company in question, as well as what’s going into each product. They don’t claim CBD regulations as the wild west for fun, but rather because there is no one company holding companies accountable to the CBD they’re producing. So, do some recon and know what you’re buying!
There are many more ways to implement CBD for sleep, but you’ll have to stay tuned for part two.
